Case Study 2 (Genre Choice)

The Atoning (2017)

The reviews I found online include: critiques shown on the official website (top), horrorgeeklife.com (left),
https://www.christcenteredgamer.com/index.php/staff-blogs/entry/the-atoning (right)

After skimming through the reviews, I find that the reviews on the official website excites the readers due to the praise of uncertainty which the film is described to be. These types of reviews are the most optimal types of critiques for readers to see on the main website as they can only feel a bigger pull to watch the film. The official website also keeps a short section/tease display of the full review in order to give readers less of a spoiler and therefore a choice on whether to read on and find out more about the film (although not suggested unless they have already watched the film or if they wish to enquire further).
The blog review gives a much more personal as well as blunt form of expression on their experience after watching the film. This would typically be good reads for average film consumers who simply wish to find out an honest opinion on the film's plot and the direct response.
