Iconology Mood Board

Genre & Mise-en-scene Mood board

Thinking specifically about the film genre and how my group's personal themes would integrate. I would imagine a lot of supernatural elements and imagery to work alongside the gloomy and dark atmospheres of a horror film. The setting would typically not be a bright one, although the use of light and dark will be a crucial aspect to think about. I have just stuck to the more conventional 80:20 ratio of dark to light as it illustrates a more mysterious feeling.
Additionally, the props will also be quite a special element to pay attention to. From the handwriting, the diagrams written inside and even the material or visual aesthetics of the book (either burnt or aged paper).
On another hand, I also looked at natural settings and how the aspect of the genre can transform the mood of the place into an unsettling one (through use of colour and lack of light). I had quite a lot of interests at the use of light in horror genres, however I would also make sure to pay attention to the importance of creating eerie scenes within a more brighter and natural lighting.
