Trailer Analysis

i) The Mummy

The genres of this film is action, adventure and fantasy.
The film title appears at the end (2.00) which is traditional and also leaves viewers seeing the text last. Therefore, allowing viewers to remember the title and encouraging them to go see it. Tom Cruise  is a major actor starring in the film, his name is shown, connoting his importance and also attracting his fanbase to watch the movie. Sound has been used to build degrees of tension. Without the volume, the visual features emphasize action which makes viewers captivated whereas the addition, causes emotions and reactions of tenseness or of anxiety and excitement (during comical parts). Sound effects used in the full theatrical trailer also adds to pacing while giving a heart-beat like sound which entices the viewers. Creating a sense of breathlessness during fast pace moments. The drumming heart-beat sounds build to a climatic point in the trailer to the point of making viewers wanting to see more.


ii) Fast & Furious 8

The genres of this film is action, adventure, crime and thriller.
